W.A. “Hutch” Hutchinson began life as a cowboy, raising cattle, training horses
and running ranches. He was born in 1939 in Carroll County, Georgia and always enjoyed drawing and painting. His favorite
subject of his early artwork was ranch life, roping, riding and bunkhouse humor. He
cowboyed from Georgia to New Mexico and back again, gaining a reputation as an artist both
on and off of his horse.

Growing up in a small town in West Georgia gave him
the opportunity to see life as something simple and enjoyable. His folk art reflects
the time when old men sat on porches, women cooked from scratch, and children could have fun all day with just a piece of
rope and an old tire.

Hutch’s artwork has found its way from the small
town of Carrollton to the bustling West Coast of California, up the Mississippi River and down through the panhandle of Florida. It appeals to all types of people, reminding them of the America that was
simple, uncomplicated, and genuinely beautiful.
